6 New Mexico Students Travel To Poland For Mock Trials

Six high school students from New Mexico were the only Americans who participated in the esteemed Model International Criminal Court (MICC) mock trials (Nuremberg, Yugoslavia Tribunals, Rwanda Tribunals) in Krzyzowa, Poland.  They were selected by NMHRP, the one organization in the U.S. invited to attend and send students.

Working in international teams from Germany, Israel and Poland, the students took on the roles of judges, prosecutors, defenders and observing journalists in three historical war crime cases. Real journalists and real attorneys with expertise in international relations provided guidance and training.
